What’s Known
Recent Stroke
Lawler suffered what is being described as a minor stroke around September 12, 2025 at his home in Fort Myers, Florida.
The stroke affected the right side of his body and also slightly impaired his vision.
Health History
This is his third stroke since 2018. Previous ones occurred in 2018 and in February 2023.
He also had a heart attack / cardiac arrest in 2012 during a live WWE Raw broadcast.
Current Status & Effects
He has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home, currently in Memphis.
He is walking and talking.
He is experiencing lingering issues, especially with vision and memory.
He admitted that he had not been taking his prescribed medications in the days before this latest stroke.
Public Appearances & Plans
He has canceled upcoming appearances, including a Horrorhound convention in Cincinnati.
He intends to rest and recover “for a few weeks.”
He expressed gratitude toward fans for their well-wishes.
Observations & Implications
Because this is his third stroke, and given past health issues (heart attack / cardiac arrest, etc.), there is clearly a cumulative health burden.
The fact that he did not take his medication prior to this recent stroke suggests adherence to treatment was a factor; that might be something his medical team will focus on going forward.
The vision and memory effects tend to be common after strokes, especially when recurrent. Recovery in those domains can be slow and may be only partial depending on severity, etc.
His ability to talk and walk is a good sign; it suggests this stroke was relatively less severe compared to some past events, though “minor” still doesn’t mean “no risk” or “no lasting damage.”
