WFIA News Desk: A Cross-Border Clash with Double Gold on the Line
The winds of independent wrestling just picked up something electric… and it’s headed straight for May 16.
Show-Me State Wrestling has officially announced a landmark agreement with Millennial Lucha Libre (MLL), setting the stage for a rare, history-tinged collision of championships at the upcoming “Floating and Fighting” event.
At the center of this storm stands one man: El Diablo Vega — a champion carrying gold (and expectations) from both sides of the map.
On May 16, Vega will do something that feels pulled from the pages of territory-era legend:
👉 Defend the Show-Me State Championship
👉 AND the MLL Welterweight Championship of Nuevo León
👉 On the same night. Same event. Same spotlight.
This marks the first time both titles will be contested together in Show-Me State Wrestling, a moment that echoes the kind of inter-promotional magic that once defined wrestling’s golden eras. Different banners, one battlefield.
WFIA has long championed the spirit of cooperation between promotions, and this is exactly the kind of move that keeps the independent scene alive, evolving, and unpredictable. It’s not just a match announcement… it’s a signal. Promotions working together. Champions proving themselves beyond borders. Fans getting something truly special.
Tez Wyatt of Show-Me State Wrestling made it clear: this wasn’t easy to put together. But the goal was simple — give the fans something unforgettable. And with Vega aiming to prove he’s “the premier athlete in any country,” the stakes feel just a little heavier… like gold around both shoulders.
🎟️ Tickets are available now for “Floating and Fighting,” and if you’re anywhere near this one, you might want to witness it live. Nights like this don’t come around often.
WFIA will be watching closely.
Because when history gets written… we make sure it’s remembered.
